The Annual Sports Day 2023 of Pushpalata Schools was held on the 27 th January 2023
at the school Ground. It was a great privilege to have Dr. Abu Thamby, General
Practitioner, Northampton, UK, hoisted the School flag, declared the Sports meet open,
lit the Olympic torch and released the pigeons. He addressed the gathering insisting on
the need for physical well-being for shaping the future.
The Annual Sports Day2023 commenced with the Prayer Song.
The ceremonial parade was led by the Head Boy and the Asst. School Pupil Leader of
Pushpalata Schools. They were followed by the School Band and following the School
Band we had, The NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides and Junior Red Cross. They were
followed by the various houses of Pushpalata Schools. In total, there were 562 Athletes
in 11 contingents.
Prizes were given to the Outstanding Performers, Individual Champions and the overall
Champions of Pushpalata Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The Overall
Championship award was bagged by Ixora the Blue House.
Martial Arts performances like the Karate Display and Silambam Display were breath-
taking. The drills performed by the Pushpalatans show-cased their teamwork,
coordination and cooperation. Tiny tots from grades 1, 2 and 3 performed the Nature
drill, kids of grades 4 and 5 executed Yoga and students from grades 8 and 9 performed
the Wings drill which fascinated the spectators.
The Harvest festivals of India Parade staged by the students of grade 6, 7 and 8 was
the most amazing event of the day highlighting the dances and culture of the five states-
TamilNadu, Assam, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal that celebrate Harvest
Festivals in India.
The eye-catching float entitled \u2018My India, My Pride\u2019, depicting our heritage was yet
another special feature of the day\u2019s celebrations.
The Annual Sports Day 2023 of Pushpalata Schools filled everyone with loads of
\u2018Power\u2019, \u2018Self-confidence\u2019 and of course \u2018Winning spirit.\u2019
In the end the Olympic Flame was extinguished and the School Flag was lowered. The
Annual Sports day 2023 of Pushpalata Schools ended with the National Anthem.<\/p>\n
